CSL (Centro Sperimentale del Latte) is a company founded in 1948 by Dr. Leo Vesely in order to study and increase the value of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and other food grade microorganisms. CSL was the first Italian company to study and demonstrate the importance of LAB cultures for the human organism. From that moment on CSL has pursued the philosophy of its founder combining health, nutritional and food issues, both for humans and animals.
In 2006 CSL has become part of Gruppo Granarolo, Italian leader in the dairy sector, this way confirming the vocation for research and innovation that has characterized the first 60 years of activity of Centro Sperimentale del Latte.
Today CSL studies, develops, produces and sells probiotics, starter cultures, moulds and yeasts for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, dairy, food and agri-zootechnical sectors.
