Brasserie de Saint-Omer was founded in 1866. In 1950, following a series of takeovers, mergers, it is called Brasserie Artois commercial and 45,000 hectoliters of beer. In the village of Hordain about fifteen kilometers south of Valenciennes, La Choulette is one of the few craft breweries in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region. With an annual production of 4,000 hectoliters, the brewery's influence is not limited to the territory of Valenciennes. Instead, the beers brewed in the village of Hordain are distributed throughout the country and even beyond. They thus exported to Britain, Italy and the United States. The brewery now employs eleven people, including four in the manufacture of beer. For others, they work their direct distribution on the North region.
