Pierre Ponnelle is one of the great figures of Burgundy in the 19th century. Born in 1847 near Arnay-le-Duc, he spent the first moments of his youth in Beaune, then he went to study in Germany and the Scandinavian countries. But Pierre Ponnelle is above all passionate about wine. It was during his return to Beaune in 1875, Pierre Ponnelle founding his own vintner. Pierre Ponnelle is considered a pioneer of wine and a large contractor for the development of Burgundy wines. He created his wine laboratory building on their knowledge to deepen vinification methods of Burgundy wines.
