It is in the small village of Sanvensa, near Villefranche de Rouergue that since 1890 three generations of Gayral apply to perpetuate the family business and its values.
It all began with the innkeepers activity grandparents Paul back that, alongside this, already realized their own spirits as was custom in many homes. Then the activity gradually evolved to be transformed into wine shop under the aegis of Jean René and his son.
It was not until 1968 that Paul, the fourth name, very interested in spirits, added to his wine merchant activity, the distillation of spirits and decided to do marketing. With plums and other fruits harvested in the orchard he planted, Paul returns to family traditions by manufacturing using a copper campaign still, life laden waters of incomparable flavor and aged in barrels oak and carboys.
Today, if the "Vieille Prune" ensures the reputation of the house for more than 40 years, discoverer of flavors shapes its eaux-de-vie, liqueurs and aperitifs, imagining, mixing with other innovative flavors such as saffron, or delivering to date old and sometimes forgotten recipes as hypocras, or the Ségalor:
"For me, what remains the most interesting and most exciting, it is to seek and take the time to find."
Paul remains animated of the same desire to discover discoveries and inventions and to share his passion with others.

It is in 1834 that began the history of the house CLOVIS REYMOND at Villamblard in the heart of the Périgord. Its founder Louis Reymond, innkeeper, known as the "Clovis" was also distiller. It is indeed in 1834 that was granted a license to distill.
Later, he called his son Clovis founded the distillery. It is he that can emerge, top hat on his head and spoon in hand, a flaming bowl of punch on the labels of bottles first.
The house has six major diplomas obtained in the 1890 and its founder was out of competition and jury member on numerous national and international exhibitions and received the Grand Cross for industrial punch and Clovis Grog.

A lover of the Charentes wine region where I was born, I founded Distillerie de la Tour in 1989. Led by a fierce determination to develop this production, I went on to invest tirelessly in efficient tools with the aim, today, of offering you the infinite variety of our wine region and even beyond. Over the years, I have surrounded myself with colleagues whose skills allowed us to meet a wide range of requests for wine, cognac, brandy, vodka and other spirits.

Distillerie du Peyrat is committed to develop its products and to run its activity in a sustainable fashion. Since 1998, we have chosen to grow our entire vineyard according to organic farming methods and we exclusively trade with local organic producers to craft our spirits. Distillerie du Peyrat’s products are certified organic by several organizations worldwide including ECOCERT and the USDA.
In addition to our commitment to organic farming, we have taken different steps to reduce the ecological impact of our activity.
- We favor green energy as much as possible to run our activity. To this purpose, we have installed solar panels onsite to contribute to the generation of clean energy.
- All our packaging’s labels and stickers are issued from recycled paper and we select ecological packaging solution.
- We deal with local stakeholders to bottle our spirits in order to avoid all unnecessary greenhouse gas emissions. We also strive to bring our entire vineyard together in a location close to our production site to this purpose.
