The wine business of Ponnelle Family began around 1870 Pierre-Lazare Ponnelle founded his wine house and grounds at that time; he conducted extensive research on winemaking processes and in particular the understanding of fermentation; and he had to work with Louis Pasteur.
His son took his inheritance and one of them, Albert, decided to start his own business, winemaking, raising and selling some of the greatest wines of the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits.
