The wine business of Ponnelle Family began around 1870 Pierre-Lazare Ponnelle founded his wine house and grounds at that time; he conducted extensive research on winemaking processes and in particular the understanding of fermentation; and he had to work with Louis Pasteur.
His son took his inheritance and one of them, Albert, decided to start his own business, winemaking, raising and selling some of the greatest wines of the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits.
His son Louis succeeded him. Today is his little son Peter, son of Louis, who runs the house. Owner in the village and 1er Cru Côte de Beaune, he also makes wine and other raw student acquired pieces or grapes.
