The origin of this vineyard dates back to the fourteenth century. We own commercial correspondence dated 1663. At that time, the Perigord is torn apart by the Wars of Religion (Edict of Nantes in 1685). In Bergerac many Protestants emigrated to Holland. A trade of wines stood at that time, with Monbazillac. Château La Borderie is one of the 17 crus "Dutch brand" reputed and recognized at that time.
